Just started getting back into the groove of things. Lost my whole game project due to windows wiping drive when it forced me to upgrade to 11. Downgraded back to 10 and starting all over again

Could you explain please?
He proposed to use a version control system like

(in combination with github/gitlab for example) to make sure you never lose your project again ;). Version control is also included in the ue4 editor and also has the benefits (among others) of rolling back to a previous version of your project, branching the project into different versions and working with others on the same project.

Wow, you got forced into upgrading your OS? But how? I'm using windows 10 and whenever they try to force and update, you can usually just say pick a time and when that happens you can back up all your files. Also when that upgrade happens, there is usually a choice to retain your files. That's unfortunate.

And yeah, If you're doing professional work especially as a game dev, back up your stuff. Maybe even use Microsoft OneDrive as your back up. Good luck.
